My year so far is going good and bad. But we all have our ups and downs Let’s start off with the good things throughout the year. My first achievement was getting into the construction trades academy. It has been a big game changer for me and my future. The class provides amazing knowledge and gives great opportunities as you learn. And it is also practical so it also gives you motivation to move forward. I am so grateful to be able to attend the trades academy. It gives you a clear mind of what you want in life and gives you options for your future. Also I have been smashing through paper work which was my main priority and it also gives you good knowledge which is a big achievement. I have had one down this year and it was my car getting crashed into. the car took a big impact and took some bad damage. I did get reimbursed but the car was a confidential reminder of what it was like to own something really nice. It was a huge success to get that car it took a lot of effort to buy the car. It wasn’t the flashest or the best but it got me from A to B and that’s what really mattered it gave me freedom and wisdom. But hey we move forward and we have to forgive because if we don’t forgive we can’t move forward.

in my opinion it means being safe at all times and not to take short cuts . Also what I learnt was being a CPU is a lot of work. Everything is relying on you if you are a CPU you take control of everything so if something goes wrong or a mistake is made the CPU has to act on it or the CPU can be in a lot of trouble. If a problem occurs the CPUs job is to take control of the problem and he or she makes the next decision to make things right .

to me this means you have to need things more than you want them. For example what do you need to live of course you need food water power a car but most people look at what they want instead of what they need. All I’m saying is don’t waste your hard earned money on stuff you don’t need. To invent something you have to have what is needed not what is wanted. Like they say you need a female to create a human being. Or the other way around. Ill end with a quote “Your future depends upon many things
but mainly it depends upon you.”

learning how to take responsibility for your self is a good habit to get into . It don’t take much to learn people ask what does it mean? it means being able to wake up for school and getting to school in time another question is what does it mean to you? what it means to me is for example I’m gonna try and finish all my paperwork by term 3 week 10 . So you set goals for yourself to complete task step by step .

We were learning the basic mechanisms of an engine. For starters there are three things an engine needs to be able to run fuel,air,spark but what if it is a high compression engine? All a high compression engine needs is fuel,air,and heat  . High compression engines have a system called self ignition combustion in a 4 stroke cycle. The engine heats the glow plugs up then it will open the intake valve allowing air in. With the exhaust valve closed the engine has all this heat air so the engine will compress the air that is in the engine. Because the hot air is at a high pressure as soon as fuel (diesel) hits the hot air mixture it ignites like a bomb and that is what I learned this week

I learnt how to brace post so you have to set up profiles first so you got something to put your string line onto so you can keep your post as straight as possible. If the profile is bumped then the string line will be put out of place. Which means your post will be off as well you also need a post level. with a post level you can make sure your posts are level with the string line. And then you need pegs, pegs are steel rods that have holes at the top so you can screw the braces to the steel pegs. You need braces for both sides of the post so the post cant move both directions.

My understanding is that if you get good opportunities even the smallest ones . Take them because you might never get it again and be grateful for the things a you are capable of doing. For example i was Able to help the building movers on Friday we had to move a sleep out up to the top of this hi at school last week that’s an opportunity that i couldn’t pass down.

I learned that a wood mill can make up to 30,000 boards a day . But I thought to myself that 30,000 boards a day isn’t much but it’s a lot . I also learned that the blades for the big saws get changed everyday . Well it depends on the wood if it is dry then the blades get changed daily if it’s wet then the blades get changed every second day . They also monitor the whole site with a monitor room . another thing that was fascinating was the arm bands that they had the band had a device on it that could strap to your arm and if you get 6-10 meters within the heavy equipment the device will beep like crazy and it will tell you that you are to close to the machine and it will also notify the driver . Another thing that was interesting was a tablet that controlled a system called the bins the bins were built to store heaps of different graded timber there were 64 bins in total and every number was a different grades and sizes .

I learnt how to use a nail gun last week because we had to put rafters and nogs in on the roof framing . Nogs are structure and for something to screw to for example nogs are used for screwing points and also for structure. Rafters are you used to hold the roof in place so the roof does not cave in it is also main structure. The nail gun is a vary good piece of equipment it is used almost everyday in building they provide good mechanism and are vary easy to use .They are vary dangerous the can kill you but most accidents with a nail gun is in the hands they leave there hand to close and the nail can pop out the side or the top . But because the have a lot of power behind them they can shoot the nail anywhere . They are unreliable they can harm you vary badly. Like on Friday last week one of the bro’s he was on the nail gun he almost got my hand because I wasn’t aware that my hand was to close and the nail popped out the top and my hand was about 2 inches away from getting hit by the nail . Just be aware and don’t leave your hand to close.
